Class 231 Hangover yoga 2 and 232 First Real day of summer
It was a fun weekend. The yoga competition was fun and I ended up going to 3 different social gatherings, so I was busy eating and drinking. These next few days will be about detox.(Monday 11am - Erin)

Erin was the one who finally said I was ready to bend my elbows and I’ve been obsessed with it since. I know that you really need to suck in the belly and round the spine. My spine doesn’t round well yet. I’m planning to do more long hold yin style forward bends. Practiced next to Val this morning and it was fun. I planned on stretching but ended up chatting about the competition. I still can’ believe that Kaspar did Aum Handstand. And whatever that crazy thing he did after was.

Standing series wasn’t too bad considering I was hungover, but the floor series was tough. The “real” yoga squeezed out some toxins…I think I was inspired by the competition and I pushed a decent amount. I sweat like crazy.

(Monday 4:30pm - Val)Today was the first real day of summer. I mean, it wasn’t hot hot, but it was hottish. It wasn’t scorching, but it wasn’t how it’s been. It was hotter than that.

Second part of the double I felt pretty good and very motivated. The good thing about pigging out all weekend is that you have a lot of energy. I found the breathing difficult. As in I couldn’t really catch my breath. Maybe I pushed things a little to far. I don’t think I cared, I just felt like pushing today.

I ran out of water and left the class to grab my 1.5L emergency bottle. I ended up drinking half of that on top of my usual bottle. In the summer you need to drink more because you sweat more throughout the day, not just in class.  My problem is that I’m so trained to sweat that I worry about long term dehydration. Hence the juicing. I don’t think I will ever get tired of cucumber, celery, apple/asian pear. It is SO GOOD after you’ve had a tough class.

Did leg lifts and wall walks after class. Body is open and strong. Love practicing in the summer.
